November's Sephora Rouge, VIB and Insider Sale

I've got the codes, the best buys for yourself, as gifts and everything else you need to know to shop Sephora's Rouge, VIB & Insider sale which starts right now!

So let me start by showing you what I purchased this morning

I'm restocking my absolute favourite mascara, Dior's Diorshow Iconic Overcurl. I've tried other brands but nothing touches Dior for looks and longevity. I usually get about 6-9 months out of a tube.

I was looking for something to really resurface and clean my skin, without me having to head to the spa for a chemical peel. I tried an alpha beta daily peel that didn't give me any noticeable results. When I mentioned this to the Sephora staff they recommended I try the Tata Harper Glow Getter Set. I asked for a sample of both the cleanser and  the mask to try out for a few days. And that was me sold! The science is you get a physical, enzymatic, and BHA exfoliation and the real talk is you get a profession peel at home with zero downtime.

The stuff is amazing. After a few days of using the cleanser and trying the mask three times, I was hooked. The Tata Harper website has this great blogpost called TATA'S TIPS: 7 WAYS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF OUR RESURFACING MASK where is shows you a number of different ways to try this product. My favourite is to apply the cleanser on to dry skin and add a thick layer of the mask. Wait 5 minutes and rinse. What I notice right away is clean and glowing skin. Also my hyper sensitive skin does really well with this stuff which is a miracle on it's own. No after use breakouts, no dry, itchy skin. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that they are a clean beauty brand and everything is 100% natural. This brand really made me take notice of clean beauty products and I am trying to work more and more of them into my rotation.

The last item I ordered is a replacement to my other one that my son stole from me! Ha! Poor guy taking some heavy duty acne medication and it's drying his skin like crazy. I gave him my bottle of Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask to help his dry lips. I had the original mask and love the scent of it. There is still a lot left, even after a year of having that bottle. I knew it would last a long time so I never looked to see what other scents they have. Until now. And now they have a vanilla scent which is just so perfect this time of year. I'll be sleeping with visions of sugar plums and wake craving cookies.

This is one of those beauty products that everyone needs to use, especially as we age. The drier our lips are, the drier the skin around our lips gets. And with that comes lines. I use it every night (well, not the last few nights. Thanks kid) and it always makes my lips ultra soft in the morning. I also find that I don't need to use Chapstick during the day and I have been a lifelong devotee to using Chapstick multiple times a day for as long as I can remember.

With the sales code of 'HOLIDAYSAVE' I was able to get 15% off my purchase! Rouge members can save 20% and Beauty Insiders save 10%. Sephora only holds these sales twice a year so this is the time to stock up! *Sale runs Nov 7 - Nov 11*

Here's a few items I suggest you looking into purchasing during the sale

I was so close to buying this Huda Beauty Eyeshadow Palette in Medium Nude. So close in fact that if I end up at the mall this weekend, I'll probably just buy it in store. Eyeshadow and eye make up in general is something that I'd like to get better at, and the only way to get better is to practice! I like the idea of this palette because it has a lot of colours that will work all through the holiday season, no matter the outfit. I also like that it's smaller than some of the other more popular palettes and therefore less intimidating to someone who doesn't wear a lot of eye make up. I just want to add a little sparkle to my holiday looks.

This is a great gift idea or even a good introduction for yourself into the world of Dior Rouge! The Rouge Dior Lipstick Mini Set comes with four different holiday shades, 999 Matte (iconic Dior red), Dolce Vita (orangey red), Classic Matte (rosewood), Promenade (luminous nude). It's a great way to test out and see what colour works the best on your skin before purchasing the full size. I like the idea of having four different shades to mix with holiday and even my daily outfits. And it goes without saying but the quality of Dior make up cannot be beat. Their lipsticks are some of my favourite on the market.

This is the dream team to prep for those special holiday events. The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask and Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask are two of my most favourite beauty products. I always say that my secret to youthful looking skin is that I use the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II on my face every.single.night. I've been using it, especially on my forehead where lines are appearing, for three years and I don't ever see myself stopping.

These masks are like that bottle on supercharge! The hyaluronic acid gives you a radiance and plumpness that you just can't get in any other mask. When I have an all day event, I put these on the night before. If it's a night time event, I will wear them the morning of the event. They are a little pricey considering they only come in a package of four. That's why I like to save them for special holiday events. I have one set left, so I guess I'll have to restock soon!

Drybar's Baby Buttercup Blow Dryer has revolutionized my hair drying routine. My old hair dryer was working fine but it would take 15 minutes to blow dry my hair and it was so heavy I found it hurt my wrists to use. We travel a lot and lugging that thing around really got to me and I found myself relying on hotel hair dryers (with terrible results). I must have really been complaining about it because my husband came home from a work trip with this powerful folding hairdryer in his luggage!

I have long loved Drybar's products like the Hot Toddy Heat Protectant Lotion (I use this before blow drying) and the Detox Dry Shampoo (I use this in between washings). I even have the book, Drybar Guide to Good Hair For All which I credit with helping me understand how to dry and style my hair. I just knew their hair dryer would be great. And it is! I can dry my long hair (down to the middle of my back right now) in 7 minutes and not once do I need to rest my arms and wrists. It also comes with its own travel bag and folds up nicely.

It's such a powerful machine and I've caught the guys in my house using it more than once. Another thing that I've caught them using is my wet hair brush (the Drybar Super Lemon Drop wet hair brush would make a great gift for men, women and teenagers). Less heat on your hair means less damage. I'm working on a full review blog post about my hair dryer so stay tuned for that!
